What the rewrite changed in real searches

These notes come from candidates who booked LinkedIn and XING work with us. They mention specific friction — not generic praise.

My XING Über mich still read like a 2018 Lebenslauf. After the rewrite, a Hamburg recruiter messaged within a week — the first cold outreach I had seen in months. LinkedIn took longer to move, which Claire flagged in the intake call so I was not surprised.

They refused to inflate my title when I asked. Annoying in the moment; useful later when the interview matched the profile word for word.

The audit list was blunt: my banner looked like a stock brochure, and my headline hid the MedTech work. I fixed those myself using their prioritised list. I still wish they had offered a shorter call option for questions — the written report alone left me guessing on one keyword choice.

Stewardship kept my XING current while I interviewed for three different role types. The monthly call is short; that is the point. When I paused the search for six weeks we simply stopped the month.

Extended story

From mismatched networks to one coherent story

Professionals discussing career documents in an office

A senior buyer in retail logistics came to us with a polished LinkedIn and a nearly empty XING. German mid-market recruiters were finding the thin XING profile first and declining before they saw LinkedIn.

We ran the full rewrite on both networks, aligned dates and company names, and rewrote the About sections to lead with category experience rather than a list of employers. Within three weeks the candidate reported two structured conversations that started from XING messages — both referencing the new Über mich opening lines.

Constraint worth noting: the candidate declined a German-language LinkedIn About, preferring English for international retailers. We documented that choice so recruiters would not assume missing German fluency from the profile alone; language skills were stated explicitly instead.
